Trainings Included:

  • Navigating the “Dark Side” of Sexual Health: Terminology, Stigma, and Clinical Clarity
This training unpacks critical terminology, dismantles common industry taboos, and prepares practitioners to show up for difficult, high-stigma topics with professional confidence, competence, and clarity.
  • Overcoming the Fear of Being Labeled an “Apologist”
Educating yourself and working with people with sexual behaviors deemed problematic, scary or even harmful does not mean condoning harm. We explore the psychological and professional discomfort clinicians face when working in non-prescriptive, harm-reduction spaces, and how to maintain ethical boundaries without fear of professional backlash.
  • Debunking Myths: Truths vs. Misconceptions in Problematic Sexual Behaviors
Separate pop-culture pseudoscience from peer-reviewed research. We review the most pervasive and sometimes problematic myths surrounding problematic sexual behaviors and replace them with data-driven clinical reality.
  • Sexual Health is Health: Core Foundations & Frameworks
An introductory deep dive into integrating sexual health as an essential pillar of overall well-being. We’ll establish core theoretical frameworks, examine historical gaps in training, and build the foundation for addressing complex cases.
  • Sexual Development in Youth: Distinguishing Normalized vs. Problematic Behaviors
Learn how to accurately differentiate between healthy, normative sexual curiosity and behaviors that signal distress, trauma, or a need for clinical intervention in children and teens.
  • Emerging Adults vs. Adults: Developmental Nuances in Risky Sexual Concerns
Age-stage differences, brain development, and risky behaviors in young adults (18–25). Emerging adulthood presents unique neurobiological and social dynamics. This module compares risk-taking behaviors in emerging adults versus older demographics, tailoring assessment and intervention approaches accordingly.
  • Clinical Assessment: Evaluating Problematic and High-Stakes Sexual Behaviors
A comprehensive overview of the specialized evaluation landscape for problematic sexual behaviors. This session introduces the structure of psychosexual and risk assessments, reviews widely used and empirically validated psychometric tools across different age groups, and provides a framework for identifying qualified assessment specialists when referring out.
  • Pornography, CSAM, and CSEM: Clinical, Ethical, and Legal Distinctions
A clear-eyed exploration of adult pornography consumption versus Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) / Child Sexual Exploitation Material (CSEM). Covers mandatory reporting obligations, legal definitions, and clinical approaches for working with clients accessing harmful media.
  • Working with Individuals Who Have Violated Consent: Data, Language, and Rehabilitation
Examine the actual data on individuals who commit sexual offenses and consent violations. We explore how person-first language impacts therapeutic rapport and rehabilitation, while addressing the stigma surrounding labels like “sex offender.”
